Governance

In Manitoba, the responsibility for delivering public education to students from kindergarten through Grade 12 has been delegated to school boards. Provincial legislation, in the form of the Public Schools Act and the SMµ÷½ÌÉçÇø Administration Act, defines the structure, obligations, and responsibilities of school boards. The primary function of a school board is to set policy. School board elections are held every four years in conjunction with municipal elections, on the fourth Wednesday in October. The next election is in 2026.
